CARY WOLINSKY • VISUAL MEMORIES Book

$75.00

Visual Memories, the first retrospective of Cary's work, presents photographs and stories from his career.  From the USA to England, France, Russia, India, Namibia, Peru, Papua New Guinea, Australia, China, and Japan, Cary captured both the visual images of the world, but also the spark of story — culture, history, science, politics, humor — all the aspects that bring our world to life.

Cary Wolinsky, who passed away in 2023, began his career as a National Geographic photographer in 1972. For months at a time, he traveled the world for stories on the Kremlin, Sichuan, the Brain, Color, Poison, Diamonds, among others, as well as a series on textile fibers: Cotton, Wool and Silk. Five of these stories became covers for National Geographic Magazine.

He was renowned for the level of research and preparation he put into his assignments, for thinking carefully about each subject, and how best to capture it meaningfully.

The 11” x 11” book is 216 pages with 160 photographs. It is hard bound and smyth sewn.
