PRINCE GOOZE AND THE RIVER OF STARS

PRINCE GOOZE AND THE RIVER OF STARS
Doodles cover my desk blotter, my meeting notes and the field notes I write when traveling for National Geographic Magazine. Some people read paperback novels when they dine alone in a restaurant; I doodle.
Prince Gooze doodled out of my pen onto Novotel restaurant place mats in Ghana, Western Africa in 1992. Each evening a page of the Gooze story took shape while curious waiters looked on. I was anxious to share the story with my wife and son; so, each morning, I sent a new page home by fax. Babs and Yari heard the fax machine groaning forth at about 3:00 am every day until this doodle-fax book was complete. — Cary Wolinsky
Before Cary arrived home from Africa, I printed his black and white faxed drawings and bound them into a handmade book. We called it a Doodle-Fax book. In 2022, Cary and I decided to color the drawings and fill in some of the missing images to create this version of Prince Gooze and the River of Stars. — Babs Wolinsky
Prince Gooze and the River of Stars is available as a hardcover book for $70. 44 pages
